New job managing corporate apartments is a piece of cake

I started working in the real estate industry about 10 years ago.

At first I was helping out in an office, answering phones and typing up letters. Then I got a job working as a leasing agent for a condo company. I quickly jumped up to assistant manager after 3 months. After 6 months, I was the manager for all 200 condos. I learned a lot from that job. After spending three years working in the condo company, I got this job. I am a manager for a large corporate apartment building. We have one bedroom, two bedrooms, and three bedroom floor models. All of our corporate rentals are furnished with kitchen appliances, bedroom furniture, and a living room suite. All of the corporate rentals have a 50-inch television in the living area with a sofa bed as well. Working for the corporate apartment company is a really easy job, because I never have to worry about evictions. I never chase anyone down for rent. Most apartments are paid a year ahead of time, and the rest are automatically deducted from a business account each month. I rarely have a problem with finances. Most of my issues are with the general maintenance of the place. We have had a tough time finding a landscaping crew that does a good job for a reasonable rate. We’re already on our fourth landscaping for this month. It’s hard to find a crew that can carefully prune bushes, trim trees, and maintain the three hole golf course on one of our sister properties. It’s a lot of work for a small landscaping company, but we prefer sticking with a smaller local company.
