Each of these new options offers the ability to minimize energy use and impact on the environment. One of the most rewarding innovations in heating is radiant floor heating. Although most easily installed into new construction projects, radiant floor heating can be retrofitted into existing structures. Radiant heating provides exceptional comfort and cost saving potential. Radiant heating does not involve the circulation of air, which eliminates drafts, temperature fluctuation and the introduction of contaminants into the breathing air. There’s none of the sounds or energy losses associated with ductwork. Radiant floor heating provides warmth by infusing heat into the air. The warmth is spread evenly across the floor from wall to wall. The lowest temperature is near the floor, where it does the most good. It allows for lower thermostat settings, which minimizes monthly costs. The radiant floor heating is entirely hidden beneath the floorboards. It takes up no space. It doesn’t look ugly or make any noise. It offers the ability to set specific zones to customized temperatures. In my opinion, radiant floor heating is the best method of heating available. There is no maintenance and it tends to be very reliable. I just love setting my bare feet on a warm floor in the morning. I like that I don’t need socks or slippers, even on the coldest nights of the year.
