It is currently spring, which means the winter is over and the summer is coming.
I am finally allowed to turn my furnace off and use my air conditioner for the next few months.
The only problem is that I didn’t have to turn my furnace off. My furnace stopped working a few weeks before the temperature started feeling comfortable enough to turn the furnace off. For the last few weeks, I have had to rely on the space heater to keep my entire family warm, which meant that we were all very cold some mornings. I am happy that we can finally use the air conditioner and not worry about the colder temperatures, but I don’t feel completely relaxed. I know that I will only have a few months before I have to turn off the air conditioner and prepare to use the furnace for heat. However, I don’t have a working furnace anymore. Since my furnace is extremely old, I am not even sure that it will be worth it to repair this furnace. It will probably stop working in the middle of winter again, just like it did last year. I know that I have to get a new furnace, but I also know that there is no way that I can financially afford a new furnace. I am planning to call an HVAC company to see if they can work out a payment plan for my furnace, but I am worried that they will say no. If they say no, I am not sure what I can do. I could purchase a ton of space heaters, but my electric bill will climb so high that I won’t be able to save for a new furnace.
