Can I reset a furnace/heater that has stopped working?

Furnace/heater problems often start at the filter if they are not checked for maintenance as required. Clogged furnaces heat up and shut down but they can eventually breakdown if no a/c professional checks on them. However, if you are a proactive person like I am, you really don’t have to wait for an a/c repairman to come around. I am not much of a gadget geek but i believe it is good to have some little know-how knowledge on AC products. I find appliances like the commercial air conditioning system intriguing because of their capability to handle large-scale heating and cooling demand. My latest obsession however, is the heated floors technology that can use water or electricity to warm or heat the house. I wish I could do that but since I stay in a rental with perennial furnace/heater repair issues, we always have a local contractor in the building either doing a heat pump repair. Constant repairs are costly and if i could just reset my AC without involving any a/c rep, I bet i’d benefit from energy saving help. Anyway, back to my case, the best advice I got is to inform the landlord about the condition of my ductless HVAC and apply for a replacement if there was a significant difference.Since all my neighbours had their compressors hanging out, a lot of them were installed at the same time but hardly serviced. A number of the ductless heat pump are hardly ever functioning like mine but at least we got the attention of the landlord for now. It’s not like we hope for a commercial air conditioning type of AC and we don’t expect a miracle either but if the mini split air conditioner works, it’s good enough for me.
