I got into a pretty awful car accident roughly a month ago.
I guess I had passed out maybe from the impact of the crash.
All I remembered was adjusting the temperature control settings to get the A/C cranked up. I really should have been paying full attention to the road, but I think I may have swerved into the opposite lane and slammed into another car. I learned from witness accounts that the other driver almost hit head on but swerved to miss my car. All of this because of my negligence with not paying attention to the road while trying to adjust the temperature control settings. You really have to be careful about things like that. Taking your eyes off the road for just a moment can be entirely fatal. That’s why people really shouldn’t be texting while driving or doing anything that distracts them like me adjusting the temperature control settings. It’s easier to adjust the radio stations because you don’t have to take your eyes off the road. I was so thankful that the other driver wasn’t hurt, they got out of the accident with just a few scratches and bruises. I was hurt pretty bad though and I have been in the hospital all this time. My insurance covered the cost to replace the vehicle that I slammed into and I also was able to cover their medical injuries. I was so sorry to that person who I almost killed. It really is a lesson learned for me. I will never be so negligent on the road ever again, not for adjusting the temperature control, looking at my phone, or anything unsafe like that.
