Half of them fell asleep on the way home
I have two small children that are currently in elementary school. Sometimes the school takes field trips and they ask a parent to be a chaperone. I volunteered to go to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, FL. The field trip was last Tuesday. It was my first time to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, FL. It was also the first time that my son saw sharks, stingrays, and jellyfish. The drive to Tampa FL took about 45 minutes. The weather was clear and cool, and the sun was shining all day. I wasn’t allowed to take my own car, because the chaperones needed to be with the students. I really wanted to take my car, so I could have peace and air conditioning. The bus ride was a real mess. The students were jumping all over the bus. It seemed like no one had any control. The teachers sat around and looked off in a daze. My child was the only well-behaved kid on the bus, and that’s probably because I was sitting there. The bus driver threatened to pull over on three separate occasions. I’m surprised the bus driver didn’t leave us sitting in Tampa FL. By the time we finished our day at the aquarium, most of the kids were tired and quiet. Half of them fell asleep on the way home. It was the quietest part of the whole day. Honestly, I was tired after all of that exercise and excitement. The 45-minute drive seemed to go much quicker on the way back then it did on the way to the aquarium.
