Although our son is a landscaping artist, many people feel that when winter arrives, he no longer has anything to do.
- This is far from the truth.
Unlike most landscapers who will go out and make sure the yards are properly prepared for the winter, my son does not. He will nurture young plants so that by the time spring arrives, he has them perfectly shaped and ready to grow. Since he is working in the greenhouse most of the winter, he needs to make sure he has a good furnace to keep the greenhouse at a safe temperature for the plants. One of the problems he comes across is that the furnace will often dry out the air in the greenhouse. He can’t go without the furnace, so he is always making sure the humidification system is working properly. He also has a great thermostat that accurately keeps the temperature and humidity. I have seen him go outside and make snow creatures, which I think is part of his artistry. Instead of the regular snowman, in our area, you will see batman, Santa Claus, and even the president at times. There is no limit to what creatures, such as dragons, or Kermit the Frog, that you will see. He loves doing these odd jobs for the neighborhood and many of them are paid creations. He always goes back to his greenhouse when he is done with the day’s snow creation. He will make one final check of the plants, temperature and humidity and make sure the timers are set properly for the lighting. Without the thermostat, humidification system and the furnace, he would lose everything.
