I bought my first home when I was twenty-two years old, and it was a huge, seasoned farmhouse… I appreciated that home so much… After my fiance and I got married, he moved into the farmhouse with me, and we lived there for twenty years, and the people I was with and I would have never moved except for the fact that the home was basically falling apart around us.
It needed so much work because it was honestly old.
I did not want to leave at all. It took numerous tears and fighting with myself to finally give in and sell that house, but my fiance and I moved into an house for the time being. The people I was with and I are currently looking for a newer lake home to buy, but we have not been able to find 1 that we adore yet, so we are settling into the house for the winter. The people I was with and I had to turn our gas furnace on for the first time this year about two weeks ago, and I am just now realizing how much money we are saving on our gas bill by living in such a small apartment. I never thought that I would adore living in a small site, however I easily have l received to love it. I had to get rid of a lot of things, but they were all things that I did not even need! When I consider how much money we are saving on gas and even our electric bill, I am convinced that I could love living in a small home for the rest of my life; Heating our huge farmhouse was so costly. I literally had to work part time over the Winter just to be able to spend money our heating bills. I think I can get used to living in a small space.
