I think it is good for him not to get overheated
I will admit that I wouldn’t run my AC as often or as low if I didn’t have a cat. For me air conditioning isn’t really necessary. I spend most of my days outside anyway. I work for a few hours at my computer and want a little cooling, but that is it. I then workout in my backyard shed and then I read, tan and go for a walk around my property. I rarely come indoors for any extended period of time. I don’t need AC again until around 7 PM when I eat dinner and then go to bed. However, I do have a fuzzy, sweet beast that gets overheated. My cat is hardcore about going otuside too. The two of us lay out in the hot sunshine together. He goes under my sunchair and I am on top. There are times the heat is too much for someone wearing a fur coat. It is adorable when my cat bursts through his cat door and lays on the cold tile floors in my house. He has an AC vent that he lays underneath for a few minutes to cool down. Once his fur and body are colder, he then goes back outside to play. He takes 2-3 AC breaks if it is really hot outside. So I technically could turn off the air conditioner to save money since I am not inside, but I can’t do that to my cat. He really enjoys having a cold place to relax. I think it is good for him not to get overheated. Alos, when he comes inside he gets a drink of water and has a snack. I like encouraging him to hydrate and fuel up.
