Upgrading to zone control

My beach house offers approximately more than two thoUSAnd square feet of living space.

It was built sometime while I was in the early 1900s plus is rather hard to heat plus cool.

The winters in our local area are long, snowy plus cold cold. The summers are shorts plus hot plus humid. Temperature control is pressing all year round. When our husband plus I first bought the house, there was a single control device located in the dining room. The dining room was always the ideal temperature. The dining rooms on the upper floor were often hot plus muggy while the kitchen tended to be cold. We needed a way to simplify tempertare control. We were payingto heat or cool a bunch of empty rooms to the perfedt temperature. There were fights over the temperature setting. About a year ago, we finally upgraded to zone control. An Heating, Ventilation and A/C company installed a series of valves into the ductwork to control airflow. He also added a control device to each room. Through an app on our iphone, I’m able to raise or lower the temperature in each room. Having zone control accommodates each family member’s preference for comfort. While the improvement was a significant investment, it’s paying for itself in energy savings. The furnace plus cooling system no longer need to toil as hard plus therefor use less energy. I pay less in utility billls. I appreciate that I am not required to walk to the dining room to access the control unit. I can make adjustments to the unique room temperature through an app on our iphone.
