The day our boiler broke down

It was a cold winter morning when we woke up to a freezing house.

The thermostat showed that the temperature was well below the normal range. We tried to turn it up, but it didn’t work. It was one of the coldest winters on record, and we were shivering in the house. Only a warm cup of tea and cookies could console us, and all we could do for the time being was to cuddle up in warm blankets and figure out a plan to solve the issue the following day. The next day we called a boiler repair company to come and have a look at it. The technician arrived quickly and started his inspection. After a few minutes of thorough examination, he identified the problem. The cause of the malfunction was a faulty boiler valve. He said we had to get it replaced, but unfortunately, the part they had to order wasn’t in stock. He couldn’t assure us when it would arrive, and we were worried about being without heat for a long period of time. However, the technician installed a ductless mini split system that served as a temporary fix by providing heat until the valve could be replaced. The HVAC technician came to our house after a few days and installed the new valve. We were very impressed with the service we received from the HVAC company. This incident taught us the importance of regular maintenance for our heating and cooling systems. Now we make sure to schedule regular check-ups for our furnace and other HVAC equipment to prevent similar complications from happening in the future.
