I have a heating system so old that it has seen more things than I have.
My heating system is absolutely ancient, but I knew that when I purchased the house.
The realtor was very forthcoming about how the heating system in my house was ancient. When I had the HVAC technician inspect the HVAC unit to see how long it would last, he told me that I only had probably two years before I would need to replace the heating system altogether. The realtor cut me a deal so that I would be able to afford a new heating system when the time came, and my wife and I moved in. It has been ten years since then, and the heating system is still working. I signed this heating system up for the seasonal HVAC inspections. The HVAC technicians inspect my heating system, replace parts, and give me warnings. Whenever the HVAC technician that came originally inspects it, he is always surprised about how long it is lasting. At this point, I have been able to save a lot of money for the heating system that I will need in the future, but I am going to continue using this heating system until it stops working. There is no reason to throw this one away prematurely. I am just so excited that I was able to save money on the house because of a potentially broke heating system, and now, I have been able to use it for a while. I am sure that the person selling the house regrets giving me such a great deal because of the old heating system.
