I’ve been putting off a lot of things in my life over the last couple of weeks.
- My uncle died recently and I have been struggling with intrusive thoughts throughout the day.
My uncle and I were really close when I was a kid. He used to play catch with me whenever we were at family get-togethers. He was my father’s brother and he tried to step up and fill some of the void when his brother, my father, died. In some respects my uncle was a father figure for a large portion of my life. While I had a step dad that my mom eventually met when I was a teenager, he didn’t have nearly as much of a role in my life as Uncle did. My uncle was there from the beginning. So it’s only natural that I’m struggling with the grief from my uncle’s death. Makes it really easy to put off things that are important that need to get done. One of those things is getting my air conditioning system repaired in my house. It’s not cooling the air going through the machine at the rate it’s supposed to. I called the heating and cooling supplier and they set up a date to send out an HVAC technician to check my system. Finally that day came yesterday and the HVAC technician arrived right on time. He ended up fixing the air conditioner in under an hour. I’m happy that my air conditioner is working well again and I don’t have to worry about procrastinating any further in delaying the work even more.
