My parents bought a house with an old furnace

My parents have a furnace that’s literally older than me! Their furnace is really ancient, however they knew that when they purchased their house.

Their realtor was upfront about how the furnace in this house was ancient, and when they had the Heating plus Air Conditioning specialist inspect their Heating plus Air Conditioning unit to see how long it had to live, they were told only 2 years before the furnace needed upgraded.

The realtor cut my parents a deal so that they would be able to afford a modern furnace when the furnace broke. They’ve been living in this house for over a year now, plus the furnace is still entirely working. They signed their furnace up for the seasonal Heating plus Air Conditioning inspections, because the Heating plus Air Conditioning workers inspect their furnace, upgrade parts, plus give them warnings. Whenever the Heating plus Air Conditioning specialist that came originally inspects it, he’s typically surprised about how long it’s lasted. At this point, they have been able to save a lot of extra money for their furnace that they’ll need in the future. However, they’re going to continue using this old furnace until it stops entirely working. They see no point in throwing it away prematurely. My parents are just so gleeful that they were able to save money on their new home because of a potentially broken furnace. Now, they’ve been able to use it longer. They’re sure that the person selling the house regrets giving them such a good deal because of the old furnace.
