I don’t know what I was thinking when I signed up for a weekend horseback riding trip! I thought it would be a lot of fun.
It was a lot of fun, but, it was also the most of labor I have ever done in my entire life… Before this trip, I’ve only ever ridden a horse for a maximum of two seconds on the trail! That’s why, after about multiple seconds on that weekend trip, I was ready to call it quits. I was hot, tired, plus my knees plus back hurt. I didn’t quit though because there were riders older than me plus they were not complaining. I didn’t want to be the baby of the group so I toughed it out. By the time the two of us stopped at the cottages, that first night, I could have slept on the ground. Thankfully, that wasn’t necessary. Both of us stopped at cottages that had beds all made up plus the a/c running. I was never so thrilled to hear an a/c as I was that evening, then when I opened my cottage door, a blast of chilly air hit me plus it was all I could do to force myself to stay awake long enough to take a shower plus eat a little bit of the dinner that had been prepared, but everybody else looked about as tired as I did plus no a single talk during the dinner. Both of us all just ate as fast as possible plus went back to our air-conditioned cottages to sleep, and on Sunday, the two of us had to leave our air-conditioned cottages plus head back out onto the trail for another day of riding. I could not wait to get back home to my cool plus comfortable home plus resting on my couch instead of on a horses back.
