Tumultuous weather is nothing new in our area.
From May until October, we can have a tropical storm crop up in our area.
It is so hot and humid that the conditions are always ripe for a serious thunderstorm. It will calm and sunny and within minutes the sky will darken and it will start rumbling with thunder. The wind can whip up to eighty miles an hour and the rain comes down so hard that you can’t see out your windows. I love the rain as long as I am inside. The rain can actually hurt, it comes down so hard. After the rain stops, it is even hotter and more humid than it was before the storm. I have good air conditioning, so I don’t mind the rain. Once in a while the power will glitch, but it is generally back on after a minute or two. My air conditioning will come back on and within a minute or two, the home is back to being cool and comfortable. Unfortunately, there are times when the wind becomes too much for the air conditioning unit. When the wind starts pulling up trees and throwing them across the lawn, I worry. I watched one tree fall right over and it crashed on top of my air conditioning unit. I didn’t think there was going to be any coming back from that. I knew I would need a new air conditioning unit and I was on the phone calling the HvAC company and my insurance company even before the storm was over.
