Colleague collapses at work due to poor testing after air conditioner install

My colleagues and I were assigned to work at a nearby mall.

Our in-store promotion was to take one month, but it was cut short because a colleague collapsed due to the poor air conditioner install previously done there.

The floor manager was summoned to explain the status of the HVAC systems, but the report was not immediately available. His observation was, however, that the new HVAC systems recently installed were not adequately tested for efficiency. That afternoon, the trader we were promoting his products in-store stopped work immediately and ordered for an impromptu air conditioner service to be done. The manager had to contact the HVAC repairman who made the installations to do the necessary repairs. Further investigations revealed that they installed a residential HVAC with low capacity instead of the recommended commercial version. He did not also lay the HVAC duct appropriately, so the company was probably looking at costly ductwork cleaning in the future. Clearly, the HVAC provider had a lot to answer, but first, the priority was to sort the air purification system so that regular work could resume soonest possible since there was hardly proper ventilation in the mall shops. Despite installing residential appliances at first, the heating and cooling equipment replaced functioned just fine after performing the necessary tests. Once everything was back in the place, everyone was happy to have reliable central heating doing its work. It brought great change and a different mood. If they had more rooms to work with, I am sure the zone control would have served them well. Although the mall allowed every trader to install their preferred AC products, they chipped in to assist with energy saving help.
