Cooling off the stage

By making sure the stage always has the best possible cooling, it allows the dancers to focus entirely on their craft

I’ve always had a thing for dancers. I guess it was growing up watching the old Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies, they could light a screen like no one else. The sad thing is that I suck at dancing, never been any good at it, and I am resigned to that fact. Still, I wanted to be around dancing, and dancers, so I tried to find a way to put me in that same orbit. I didn’t want to just be a creeper, hanging out in the shadows, I needed to find a job that put me on the spot. My answer ended up being HVAC repair, which eventually landed me my dream job of being the facilities manager at a dance studio. It’s a big place ,they offer classes every day and put on monthly dance shows, so they have a fairly substantial HVAC system in the building. It took a while for it to hit me that for all these dancers to be up on stage performing under the hot lights, they would need a good cooling system. As an HVAC man I have a way to help these dancers perform to their best, and actually be a part of the team, in my own way. By making sure the stage always has the best possible cooling, it allows the dancers to focus entirely on their craft. Thankfully I’m good enough at my job that I can manage the cooling and still have plenty of time to watch the dancers practice. The entire reason I got this job in the first place!
