I had been living with an old pantry for around fifteen years, the cupboard doors had warped plus no longer closed the way they used to.
The countertop around the pantry was badly scratched, stained plus most of the finish had torn off. The floor was outdated linoleum plus extremely stained, and all of the appliances needed to be upgraded, plus I was in desperate need of a new sink, faucet, windows, light fixtures plus more power outlets. After my husband and I were finally able to afford to remodel the pantry, I started looking into options. I was not pleased with the quality of the cupboards or countertops I located online. I was willing to invest more dough for hardwood shelving units plus more space in the closet. I wanted something I could count on to hold up to wear plus tear plus still look nice over the years. After checking all of the big time hardware stores plus even searching online, I finally consulted with a custom furniture shop. Because each piece is made by hand, I had a lot more freedom in the design of the pantry. I wasn’t limited to usual choices for corner cupboards or the exact widths. I worked with the custom furniture builder who gave me some help. Together, both of us figured out the best setup for me, but every one of us designed a cubby hole plus a shelving unit that made more space available. Every one of us chose glass fronts for some of the pantry plus a built-in cooler.
