Dealing with humidity in your household

Basically anyone that has spent any time in the South knows – Humidity is the enemy.

I have recently taken up walking in an attempt to lose weight.

It’s December and I expected to be bundling up to keep warm. Instead, this month it is a balmy 70 degrees – perfect t-shirt weather for a fast one mile walk. Until you walk out the door and the humidity is 100%. I definitely know – I looked it up on WeatherUnderground. I was tempted to just cut my walk short just to get back inside to my friendly air conditioner device. If humidity is the enemy, then your air conditioner is your best friend! Just thinking about that wonderful cooling component waiting for me legitimately made it tempting to easily cut my walk short. The temperature control can be set on 71 degrees, but as long as the air conditioner kicks on every once in a while, it will help control the inside humidity levels a great deal. Most people do not really think of their air conditioner being a dehumidifier. Some water restoration service providers will advise their customers to use their air conditioner device as a dehumidifier if they have had water damage to their household. While every one of us easily know dehumidification is not the primary function of an air conditioner, it will legitimately help control the moisture in your household. I have also noticed that cooking and pet odors are more prevalent when the humidity level is higher in the household and the air conditioner seems to help control these odors as it lowers the humidity. Our air conditioners work for us in more ways than every one of us think about and they are definitely our friend.
