Dog is more than my pet – he’s my HVAC inspiration (8)

My dog is my best friend on this entire planet.

He and I spend every single day together and every moment of that day he’s attached to my hip staring lovingly up into my eyes. I can’t imagine going anywhere without him. That’s why it’s so difficult to need to travel at times when I can’t control the living situations. You’d be surprised how many people don’t want you bringing a 55 lb pit mix into their homes or hotel rooms. The truth is he’s the best dog on earth and he would never hurt a soul. Anyone is so lucky to be able to meet him. But they do often pass judgment first. That’s why I wind up having to sneak him into places sometimes… it’s not always the most comfortable thing to do. Most recently I was staying in a cheap hotel on my way back home in the northern region of the country. I needed to bring my dog with because there’s no way I could leave him behind in the heat for a whole week. But I also needed to sleep. My solution was to wrap him in a sweatshirt and smuggle him up into the hotel room. The problem was I didn’t expect that the hotel room would have a broken air conditioner when we got there. After I sweated my butt off carrying him up the stairs in a thick sweatshirt we were both pretty overheated and ready for some cool AC. Instead we found a sweltering hot room with absolutely no circulating are to be found. I played around with that rooms HVAC system but was unable to get the air conditioning to start up. I couldn’t even get the fan to turn on. Eventually there is only one thing I could do. Lug my poor dog back down the stairs in a sweatshirt, stash him in the car, and go report the broken AC to the front desk.
