We had to convince the contractor to meet the heating dealer to reach a consensus.
Years ago, when I met my wife, we jokingly listed things we’d want in our forever home. We even went on an adventure to visit new expensive homes for sale to see what the market had. It looked easy to build once you gathered the money until we reached the building. Finding a suitable heating device for our house proved hectic. We wanted a heat pump. We have seen a feature in the newer homes with the latest heating technology the heating industry offers. We also wanted a smart thermostat instead of most homes’ digital thermostats. However, our contractor thought that a gas furnace would be a better option for us. We had already had a bad experience with ductwork in our last house, and the whole process of getting home services to help us with duct sealing and heating repair was something we wanted to avoid experiencing again. The HVAC tech we consulted when making decisions about our new home’s HVAC told us we could try a hybrid option with both technologies. We had to convince the contractor to meet the heating dealer to reach a consensus. The main issue with the contractor was that they had not installed anything similar to what we wanted, so it looked like a troublesome project. The HVAC serviceman was very helpful and offered to walk the contractor through designing and building the house with the equipment in consideration. That one month, trying to reach a consensus that would not lead us to either changing our contractor or heating unit of choice, was the most hectic in the entire building process.
