Happy with window cooling systems

With summer time weather that barely lasts longer than two or three weeks, there’s no need for me to spend the money on a central cooling system.

I’ve invested enough in the heating system.

When the outside temperature finally warms up, I’m sad to get out from under the bi-weekly energy costs. I look forward to opening the windows and freshening up the lake house with some natural ventilation. Plus, when the weather allows it, our family spends the majority of their time outside. Both of us make use of the patio, barbecue grill and backyard area. Both of us head to the park, tennis courts, nearby lake and ride our bikes. While the lake house can suddenly become rather hot and sticky, the people I was with and I only notice it at night. It can be really taxing to sleep with the high hot and cold temperatures and humidity. I’ve solved this problem by investing in a window cooling system for each of the study rooms. I took advantage of a sale and was able to purchase the cooling units for a little over a hundred dollars a piece. The cooling systems are compact, lightweight and were self-explanatory to install. Despite the small size, they are powerful enough to cool down a good sized study room within a couple of minutes. The systems provide plenty of cool air, circulate the air and filter out contaminants such as dust and pollen. Each a single features a cordless remote that allows us to make adjustments to temperature and fan speed without even getting out of bed. I like the sound the cooling system makes. It is just loud enough to drown out exterior noise pollution and I sleep much better with it running.
