When I first moved down here, I moved right around Thanksgiving. Actually, I left up north during one of the first real snow storms of the year. I just made it out of town in time in fact. It was so fitting to be leaving the heater and a snow storm in my rearview mirror. My whole purpose for moving here was to get out of that sort of Winter. And moving here in Fall is the best way to introduce yourself to the best weather ever. And it kept going into Winter. It was glorious and I was over the moon with my decision to leave all the heating costs behind. And I was also getting to work from some awesome zone controlled Heating and Air Conditioning in the new office. It was like I had made the best decision of my life. But a friend at work was so instrumental when it came to turning me into what lay ahead when it came to heat and humidity. For the first time ever, I had to get an air conditioning plan. This was all new to me as the air conditioning was sort of an afterthought up north. Sure, there were times when the air conditioning absolutely came in handy. But it was nothing like the air conditioning demand down here. This new friend in my new office suggested that I do my best to hold off on flipping the control unit over to cooling and leaving it. The more I could adjust weather conditions to the rising hot and cold temperatures, the less cooling demand I’d need all summer. I’m so happy I listened to him.
