People take good care of the things that they treasure and rely on a regular basis.
Take your car, for example.
At the least, you know that you couldn’t rely on it to move if it didn’t have gas in the tank. And of course, without regular oil changes and other maintenance done on it, you can fully expect it to break down on you. The HVAC system that heats and cools your home is no different. Perhaps it is easier to take for granted a functioning HVAC system than it is to take for granted a functioning car. But your climate control system needs maintenance too. Sometimes, a simple fix can make all the difference in the world. Take the most basic aspect of HVAC maintenance for example, changing the air filter. If you haven’t changed the air filter in many months, it gets very nasty and dirty. This can clog up the system and make it very inefficient and ineffective. Without swapping the dirty air filter out for a fresh one, eventually the air quality in your home will become very poor, and the air flow will become very weak. However, it is a simple fix to swap out air filters, yet it makes every difference. It is generally recommended to swap out air filters once every two months, but certainly no less than once every 3 months. Still, if you have a lot of pets that shed hair and dander, or have another situation that causes poor air quality, it might be a good idea to switch out air filters once every month. That way, you can rely on the effectiveness of your climate control system and remain comfortable all the time!
