When I was young, I remember my father taking me to the horse races.
- He would bet on the horses he thought were lucky all the time.
This one time, he won a good amount of money on a lucky bet. He was so happy that he chose to purchase a new window A/C unit for our household. Back during that time, those window cooling machines were very expensive. We were able to enjoy the cooling air every single time we would all sit down together for supper. We also would get a little bit of time to use the cooling machine when we were studying for school. We couldn’t use the cooling machine all the time though because it would dramatically increase the cost of the energy bills. Eventually when I got older, I remembered that time when my father won big betting on the horse races. So I started going to the horse races to make bets. For the most part, I lost all of the bets and I was starting to believe that I would never win. I finally just decided to make a last big bet and that would be it, if I lost I wouldn’t bet on the horse races again. Well, I put so much money on the bet, and I ended up winning a huge chunk of money. I had enough money to even upgrade our HVAC system! I decided to get radiant heated floors installed and a nice cooling system that had the rapid cooling function. When my wife asked me how we could afford all of this, I told her that I won big when I was betting on the horse races. She shook her head and said that I was turning into my father.
