It feels silly calling my significant other my boyfriend, since he’s not exactly a boy.
We’re both forty-seven, and we are definitely both adults.
For the longest time, I’ve been trying to decide whether or not we should move in together. See, I was married for over twenty years and so was he. However, this year marks two years since each of our divorces were final. Our kids are all grown up and moved out, and so since we spend all of our time together anyway, we think it makes sense to move into the same house. Honestly, if it weren’t for our heating and cooling bills, we would probably keep on living in separate houses. The house I live in is ridiculously hard maintain heating and cooling in. I feel like I spend a small fortune on the heating and cooling bills each month, and my furnace is old and in need of repair. On top of that, the indoor air quality in my house isn’t the greatest either. At my boyfriend’s house, he has a new high efficiency HVAC system that he just had installed last year, and his heating and cooling bills are considerably lower than mine are. He also has a whole home air purification system installed at his house. The whole home air purification system runs whenever the furnace or A/C starts running, and so the indoor air quality in his house is fantastic. I know it probably seems a little crazy to choose to move in with someone because of their HVAC system, but of course that’s not the only reason. I do love him and he’s begging me to live with him. I guess the HVAC system is just what pushed me over the edge.
