Mistake not getting a boiler system

The fireplace takes up a lot of room and the ventless heater takes up a spot where a lower cabinet could go

For years my family relied on an old boiler system in the basement. It hooked up to all the baseboards in the house and served as our heater. It was a really great heater and never required any repairs. Even without heating service a boiler can live over 50 years old. The boiler was ancient when I moved in and lived for a long time. When it finally died I looked at replacing it with another boiler. Unfortunately the cost of a boiler system is quite high. You get the system for such a long time and it is a tank. However, you really have to spend to get that system. I cheaped out and have regretted it ever since. I have a gas fireplace in the living room that doesn’t work as well. There are cold spots all over the house. When I change a lightbulb I feel how hot it is by the ceilings. The heating didn’t extend into the kitchen either. I needed to buy a ventless heater for the kitchen to not have my pipes bursting. For the upstairs I had to get a separate heating system as well. I went from one boiler system to three different types of heaters. My home is much colder using the three heaters too. I think everytime I would have saved money paying upfront for the boiler. Now I am stuck with three heaters and they aren’t very good. The fireplace takes up a lot of room and the ventless heater takes up a spot where a lower cabinet could go. I also had to dedicate a significant portion of the upstairs to the heater. Nobody can close their door or they don’t get heating either.
