I was on my way home from work one day and a speeding HVAC work truck side swiped my car and sent me into the ditch.
I tried to avoid the accident, but the guy came out of nowhere.
The driver of the HVAC work truck called the police and 911. I got lucky, because some people around here would just continue driving. Thankfully, I didn’t have any serious injuries. My car had to be towed away from the scene, but I only had a few scrapes and bruises. My arm was bruised badly, but I didn’t need to go to the emergency room with the paramedics. The police officer talked to the driver of the work truck and me. The driver of the work truck said he was in a hurry to help a customer with an AC repair. The guy tried to use the AC repair as an excuse for his high speed. The guy was driving 70 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. The police officer looked frustrated and he gave the driver of the work truck a large ticket. I didn’t see the amount of the fine, but the guy was really mad. My AC repair tech is never on time. My wife and I have been using the same service for the past 6 years and they rarely show up when they are scheduled. Maybe my wife and I should start using the repair service that hit my car. It seems like their technicians will do anything to get to an appointment on time.
