Not getting a good night of rest

At some point, all of us have had a night of tossing and turning while waking up each hour to check the clock. In today’s society, we expose ourselves to computer screens, smart phones, and televisions for the majority of the day. Most people find it very difficult to unplug at the end of the day. Getting a good night of sleep has many benefits. Sleep promotes a good metabolism and is good for your brain function. A good way to avoid those restless nights is to unplug from technology one hour before bedtime. Read a book, enjoy a cup of warm tea, or listen to music. Another factor of an assured restful night is a comfortable sleeping temperature. Some people prefer the air conditioner to be a very low temperature while they sleep. Some studies even show that sleeping in colder rooms can induce a deeper sleep, as well as lucid dreaming. I prefer to sleep in a room that is cooled by a window unit air conditioner. I think that the noise coming from the air conditioner is soothing, and that the air coming from unit is colder and cleaner. Many people would disagree that a noisy air conditioner in a window, bringing in air from outside would be a comforting sleep aid. Some of the best nights of sleep I have had have been in hotel rooms where the air conditioning is cold and noisy. The constant white noise lulls me to sleep, and I won’t wake up until the HVAC goes out and my room begins to warm with the morning sun.
