Not my favorite option

Propane gas furnaces are pretty fantastic for people who need them, however first of all, propane doesn’t require electricity to run, so if you use a propane heater, then you don’t have to worry about finding a way to keep your apartment warm if the electricity ever stops working, Also, propane is fairly cheap, plus you can save cash while using a propane heater, and some propane gas furnaces don’t require vents, which means that you can heat a small apartment with only a propane heater.

With that being said, there are a few downfalls to propane gas furnaces that you should be aware of.

First of all, propane gas furnaces cannot be used without supervision, according to the packaging, and propane gas furnaces are not as safe as your correct oil furnace or boiler, and when you leave your apartment or go to work, you are technically supposed to turn your propane heating system off the entire way. These propane gas furnaces were not created to be a primary heat source, and you should keep that in mind when you pick up a propane heater. Propane gas furnaces require a lot of installation to make them working well, which means that you will have to be careful if you choose to install your oil furnace yourself. Finally, the greatest cons when it comes to propane gas furnaces is that they run off of propane. Since you can only purchase propane in limited amounts, you will continue to have to fill your propane tanks for your oil furnace, then if your propane tank runs out in the middle of the evening, you may be stuck in no mans land without an oil furnace. I have done this several times, plus I grew tired of propane oil furnaces.
