Remodeling can be a fun and exciting time, but it is also filled with a ton of headaches. My wife and I recently remodeled the living room. We decided to knock out a wall to make the whole space bigger. When we got rid of the wall, we got rid of the ductwork in the space. My wife and I decided to install a ductless mini-split HVAC unit instead. It was the perfect solution to our heating and cooling issues. After we were finished with the construction part of the project, my wife and I made an appointment with an HVAC contractor. The guy gave us an estimate for the job and the price included the new equipment. My wife and I picked the machine, but the contractor got specialty pricing from the hardware store because he is a contractor. We paid for the items up front so the contractor could purchase the machine the day before the job was scheduled to be completed. On the day that the item was supposed to be picked up, my wife and I received a call from the hardware store. The contractor never came to pick up the equipment at the store. My wife and I called the HVAC contractor three times and we left a message each time that we called. When we did not reach the contractor, we went to the hardware store to pick up the machine. We had to find another contractor to install the equipment. We never heard from the original contractor again. It was the strangest and most odd experience.
