Radiant heated floors will improve any home environment

It wasn’t until recently that I stopped living in dwellings and apartments with wall to wall carpeting, with the exception of the kitchen space and bathrooms.

  • Our up-to-date lake dwelling is all ceramic tile in the downstairs areas, which includes the master kitchen.

Getting up in the day and touching the freezing, cold ceramic tile is not my preferred way to start my day. I can easily stand a lot of things, but frigid feet will tend to make me really uncomfortable and completely grumpy. I spend most of the cold season days in thick socks or fuzzy slippers, but recently I have been seeing more and more dwelling renovation shows installing heated flooring. Also known as radiant floor heating, this appears to be a wonderful complement to the oil furnace that is already in our dwelling if installed in just a single or multiple rooms. It would really be something to consider if you were doing a major renovation project or building a new home. These underfloor heating appliances are controlled using a wall-mounted temperature control and can be programmable or Smart Wi-Fi enabled. They also can supply savings to your heating bill. From a design standpoint, they can be installed under most floor covering types. Improved air quality and more consistent temperature control of the heating in rooms with underfloor heating is an added benefit… While pretty much everyone in the South would not wish to hook up their dwellings with whole dwelling radiant floor heating (Southerns will consistently need their air conditioner), it does seem to be a superb option to consider during the next bathroom or kitchen remodel.
