Size does matter with HVAC

With HVAC you need the perfect size for your home.

Most homeowners tend to size up and that is a problem.

First, make sure your HVAC company is properly sizing for your home. A lot of HVAC dealers use a rule of thumb strategy. This is where they take a loose measurement of your home, pad up the number for error and then recommend a piece of equipment. The HVAC dealer makes more money when you buy a bigger unit. So they will always push for you to go bigger. A bigger HVAC device isn’t better. If the system is too big that means it quickly achieves the temperature on the thermostat and turns it on. A HVAC machine turning on and off all day long is very bad. The system fully starting and shutting down is hard on most of the days. Expect more HVAC repairs in your future. It is also likely the system will have a reduced lifespan because of how it runs. Even with achieving the temperature on the thermostat, the energy bills aren’t going to look so good either. Smaller isn’t a solution either. Too small of a HVAC device and it runs constantly. The machine never gets a break or achieves the thermostat setting. You then are paying higher bills for diminished comfort. The machine constantly working means parts run out faster and the HVAC device will prematurely die. You really need to get the size of your heating and air conditioning device correct. Find a HVAC company you trust to do the sizing of it.
