Every year for Christmas my family and I do a trip to Tampa, Florida.
The five of us all load up in my dad’s truck and drive three hours to our destination.
My family and I all love Tampa Fl. Not only is the weather spectacular, but there is so much to do. We only go for an overnight sadly. We don’t get to see the surrounding neighborhoods like Clearwater or St. Petersburg. We stay right in the Tampa Bay area because we see the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team every year. Since our city in Florida does not have a professional hockey team, we are big time lightning fans. It is a treat going every year to see a professional game. All of us used to live in the north. Our northern team was horrible, but we still loved seeing the games. Getting tickets was next to impossible and really expensive. For the Tampa Lightning games, it is a reasonable price for the ticket and we can go anytime. I love watching the professional hockey players. I have my favorites of course. I love Yanni Gourde and Steven Stamkos. It is great that I can get a good seat right up the glass and can see them. You just can’t get that experience anywhere else. The fans in Florida are way different than the north as well. They are way more polite. There is no booing of the other team or leaving trash in the arena. Amalie Arena is a great venue too. It is big, but not overwhelmingly so.
