One should never take for granted the little things he or she comes to rely on every day. That is easier to say than live, to be sure. All of us are naturally entitled to certain things, I daresay. Take temperature control, for example. I barely notice the temperature at my locale of work. I recognize that’s ideal though. When you notice the temperature, it’s nearly constantly because it is too hot or too cold. Three afternoons ago, I stepped off the elevator onto the floor of my office and was met with a wave of hot, humid air. It was a shock, to say the least. I even looked around to confirm I was on the common floor. A coworker walked down the hallway with a knowing look. She said the a/c on our floor gave out the prior night for unknown reasons. I was already a bit stressed, because I didn’t get much sleep and I had a lot of labor to catch up on, but now I would have to also deal with no a/c! I also usually dress with an extra layer, due to the fact that the a/c is easily pretty powerful in our office. I could know myself start to sweat already as I made my way to my desk. The past more than two afternoons have been terrible since then. The a/c is finally going to be fixed, allegedly about an hour after our shift ends today. A good deal of good that does us today, but at least the people I was with and I will return to a cool office tomorrow!
