When my boyfriend and I lived in the city we rented a small house. It was a pretty decent set up. Sure, we were right on top of our neighbors. It was nice being close to all the restaurants, bars and my brothers. If I needed HVAC service, a dentist appointment or groceries, everything was closeby. The rental home was quite cute too. I could clean the place in under an hour. We each had our own room, my boyfriend had an office and there was one bathroom. One thing that never occurred to me was that my boyfriend constantly complains about the HVAC. He was always whining about being too hot. He constantly was changing air filters, mucking out the condensate drain and begging the landlord to do AC repairs. I never thought anything of it. We have since bought a house and now live in the country. We have tons of property and way more space in the home. A lot of things are much better. We don’t live near anything anymore and the air conditioner is better in our house. My boyfriend is thrilled by the AC. I never realized how much he loves cooling until we had a better unit. This air conditioner can actually achieve the thermostat setting he puts. That means I am cold all the time. Suddenly our living situation isn’t as great for me anymore. Since he went so long being a little overheated, my boyfriend isn’t willing to compromise on the temperature either. He just ignores me and blasts AC all day long. I now wear pants and a jacket in my house.
