I couldn’t help but shudder from the cool air from the air conditioning that struck me as I walked into the bank.
I dressed in shorts and a T-shirt for the hot summer day outside, but the inside of the bank was a completely different story.
I feel like I should’ve packed a whole new wardrobe for this place. The air conditioning was in full force, and it felt like I stepped into a freezer. I took a look around the bank and noticed that everyone else was dressed for the coldness and knew what they were getting into. Some were wearing coats or sweatshirts. Others were sitting in chairs waiting to be talked to rubbing their arms to stay warm. I took a deep breath and remembered why I was still there. I needed money for a vacation that I was planning on going on. Also, I say vacation but it mainly was for a wedding that I was attending. I plan on showing up to the resort where the wedding is taking place about a week before so I can just enjoy some alone time. It’s really hard for me to think about the beach and the resort when I’m standing in this awful cold bank. As one of the employees walked by me, I asked if they were able to access the dial thermostat to turn off the air conditioning. They told me that is upper management’s job and that they have to keep the building at a certain temperature or someone will complain. I told the employee that I am complaining and she said that there really wasn’t anything that she could do. I guess I need to get a new bank or file a complaint now.
