A month ago, I installed a small portable HVAC unit in my vehicle due to the boiling weather in June.
- My HVAC cooling broke in my vehicle and I thought it would be cheaper to just install this device instead.
My vehicle had over 350 thousand miles on it, so if it ever broke down for good, I could take the portable HVAC unit and put it in my house. The job of putting it in my vehicle was a little more difficult than I anticipated. I realized I had to affix it somehow because it would just move around and potentially break because of my driving. I’m going to be honest with you, I’m not the best driver in the world and I obviously enjoy hitting every pothole in the city. I recently watched a cable show named, “Enhance my ride,” where they had an Heating and A/C tech join the team to try and service the HVAC unit. The owner of that particular vehicle had a passion for heating and cooling so they put this cool set up of rotating portable a/cs that circulated air so fast. It meant that no matter what type of hot day, it could be 200 degrees outside, that owner would feel cool within a second after turning his cooling system on. I believe I’m more fearful of my vehicle breaking down than anything else because I don’t want to waste my time installing this. I just guess overall with my money and how many miles are on my vehicle, that this would be a better idea.
