You know, I’m a fairly easy going person.
It takes a lot for me to mistrust someone, as I tend to be forgiving and willing to give people a second chance.
However, I draw the line at people deliberately taking advantage of my kindness, just to make a quick buck! It’s the worst feeling in the world, knowing that someone would actually take advantage of me if it means making some extra cash. For example, just the other day I was at home enjoying a nice book. As I was sitting on the couch and basking in the cool air conditioning in my home, I heard this distinct popping sound. From there, the air conditioning unit outside seemed to be winding down to a halt. I had no idea what happened, but I knew that whatever happened must’ve affected the A/C. Within a matter of minutes, I felt the air quality inside my home begin to dwindle, and the temperature just kept rising. I had no choice – I had to call one of my local heating and A/C repair companies. When the guys came out, I told them that it was an emergency for this unit to get fixed, as I was hosting a party later in the evening. They assured me it would be a fast fix, but they proceeded to sit outside for several hours as they looked at their phones and chatted each other up. Finally, after nearly four hours and a “quick” lunch break, the HVAC service technicians returned to the house. What did they tell me? That the entire A/C unit was broken, and it would cost thousands to replace it. Can you say “second opinion?” That’s the last time I trust those guys!
