Upgrading to zone control

My home offers approximately many thoUnited Statesnd square feet of residing space.

  • It was built sometime while I was in the early 1900s plus is rather difficult to heat plus cool.

The winters in our local section are long, snowy plus chilly cold. The summers are shorts plus hot plus humid. Temperature control is pressing all year round. When our partner plus I first obtained the house, there was a single thermostat located in the residing room. The residing room was always the ideal temperature. The kitchens on the upper floor were often hot plus muggy while the entryway tended to be cold. The two of us needed a way to simplify tempertare control. The two of us were payingto heat or cool a bunch of empty rooms to the perfedt temperature. There were arguments over the temperature setting. About a year ago, every one of us finally upgraded to zone control. An Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C company installed a series of valves into the HVAC duct to control airflow. He also added a thermostat to each room. Through an app on our iphone, I’m able to raise or lower the temperature in each room. Having zone control accommodates each family member’s preference for comfort. While the improvement was a significant investment, it’s paying for itself in energy savings. The gas furnace plus cooling system no longer need to work as hard plus therefor use less energy. I pay less in utility billls. I love that I am not required to walk to the residing room to access the thermostat. I can make adjustments to the certain room temperature through an app on our iphone.
