I have always been extremely confused by the folks who say that they do not need friends in their lives.
I know a number of people who insist that they do not gain anything from having close associates.
They feel as though their life is complete on their own and they do not miss the social interactions that come from platonic friendships. Personally, I cannot understand this mindset. I absolutely love my friends more than anything on this planet and I would never give them up. Not only are they kind, supportive, and a lot of fun… But some of them even have amazingly useful skills. For instance, my best friend on this planet is a professional heating, cooling, and air quality control associate at a large indoor air temperature device dealership. He has been working in the indoor air quality control industry for over 10 years at this point. He has seen every kind of commercial and residential indoor air handling device that you could possibly imagine. And, more than a few times, he has seen my forced air furnace and air conditioning unit on a very intimate level. I can’t tell you how many times I have called my friend to the house for an emergency indoor air quality control repair appointment. He has always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable with my heating, cooling, and ventilation system. In fact, he’s the reason why I can afford to live on my own. Many years ago he helped me to optimize my energy expenditure with my heating, cooling, and ventilation control program. After optimizing my Energy Efficiency around the house, I have been able to live a much better life. One that certainly includes friendships.
