I never got to watch the game at all

I’m really bummed out that I missed most of the Super Bowl on Sunday.

I was hoping to watch most of the game, but an emergency HVAC repair call kept me away during the entire second half.

The first half was filled with great defense and only two field goals. The phone didn’t ring even one time during the first 45 minutes of the game. Unfortunately, the trend did not continue for very long. During halftime, I received a call from a frantic housewife who was on the verge of losing her mind. The furnace stopped working with a house full of people. They weren’t watching the Superbowl, unfortunately. That would have allowed me to at least listen to the game while I worked on the furnace repair. They were having a birthday party for twelve ten year old kids and the furnace stopped working shortly after the party began. The house was getting colder and colder, especially as the sun started to set. I had to drive all the way to the workshop to pick up a part for the furnace. I missed all the amazing fourth quarter theatrics including a one handed catch on the one yard line and a missed extra point to send the game into overtime. My friends sent me text messages, score updates and game highlights, but it wasn’t the same as being there to watch the game. I got back just as they were awarding the winning team the Lombardi trophy. I missed the best part of the game and all the fun was over already.
