Using a professional for a huge clog

I had a undoubtedly slow moving lavatory drain for quite some time, however i would time the middle piece out and scrub the gunk off of it… That used to help.

Then it started to not make a difference.

Then I began dumping the drain cleaner down there. That sort of helped. Then I used a plumber’s snake to detach hair and grime. After that, I was tapped out. The clog seemed to be larger and deeper than anything I could have imagined. I realized that I need to call a plumber for drain cleaning. Getting an unclogged sink done isn’t exactly glamorous. It isn’t hard though. The plumber uses a much larger, more impressive snake to get all the gross things out, and he then clears away any grime and picks up after himself. The appointment doesn’t even take an hour and it shows a large, immediate reward. I was gleeful that I finally called a professional because the guy told me that my blockage was going to start leading to large complications with piping and possibly my septic system; You don’t want to mess with drainage for a long phase of time. You don’t want to stop the flow of water, and so having a professional detach any clog is consistently smart. The guy also told me that drain cleaners tend to corrode pipes and make the situation worse. You can absolutely make a blockage go deeper with a drain cleaner. So that will be the last time I attempt to pour liquid down a drain hoping for a quick fix.
