HVAC out on driver side in my car

One morning while driving to work, I noticed something strange.

At first, I thought I was hot because it was a Monday morning, I was running late and had consumed way too much coffee since I woke up that morning.

When I went to adjust the air vent on my right, I noticed something was off. The vent was only blowing warm air, but only on the driver side. The passenger side was ice cold. In a state of panic, I pulled over and restarted my car. I do not know why I thought this would resolve the air conditioning problem, but I did it anyways. No luck. I sat there and wondered why I was so dramatic for a moment, and then returned to my commute. The thought of driving around in the dead of Summer in a warm climate made me cringe. I didn’t take the car in to be diagnosed for over a month, fearing the bill that would come from an HVAC replacement in a car. I spent that month with the windows down, driving way too fast, and leaning to the right to get some sort of cool air flow. Finally, I decided something needed to be done. Either I needed to take the car to the auto air conditioning repair shop, or hire a driver. I opted to take the car in for a diagnosis. To my surprise, the HVAC technician was able to find the issue and resolve it in the same day for a very affordable price! The HVAC technician explained to me that he had recharged my system, and that if the air conditioner went out in 30 days he would refund me, but that would mean that there was a bigger issue. He said that the repair of the air conditioner in my car could cost over a thousand dollars. If that were the case, I would have opted for the new car.
