I turn our phone to “do not disturb” at night.
However, I have exceptions so that if particular people call, their calls will still ring.
One of those people is our Grandmother. She is particularly elderly plus the entire family looks out for her, and besides, she goes to bed at 8pm. So I don’t have to worry about her calling in the middle of the night. However, she called me at 3am on Sunday. I instantly got distraught plus answered her call. Thankfully, it was not a medical emergency, grandmother was having an Heating plus Air Conditioning emergency though. She told me that her heating system wasn’t working. She said it wasn’t working all morning. She hoped it would start working however it didn’t. She turned on a space heating system just before bedtime however it must have blown a fuse because now she doesn’t have electricity or heat. I knew it was about 20 degrees outside that night so this was a true emergency. I got dressed plus drove over to Grandmother’s house. Sure enough, the power was out plus it was cold in her house. Grandmother was super apologetic about waking me up in the middle of the night but I didn’t care. Besides, she had Starbucks Coffee plus cookies. I was able to reset her breaker plus plug the space heating system into a wall outlet that is a little less overloaded. Then I called for emergency heating system repair plus waited a few hours for the heating specialists to arrive. They were able to repair the heating system by mid morning. So now Grandmother has heat again plus I can finally go back house plus get a little more sleep.
