I asked if I had to work within the family Heating & A/C business

Dad told me that when I turned eighteen, I had to go to university or join the family Heating, Ventilation and A/C company.

He wasn’t pushing, but dad wanted me to do something with my life.

I had nothing against being a Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional. I had been with my dad when he went to some of his Heating, Ventilation & A/C repair calls. I just didn’t want to join the family Heating, Ventilation & A/C company. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C company was owned by my relatives, and they weren’t easy to work with. I knew what they were like as my relatives. They were demanding and never told someone they did a great task. It was all criticism, but none of it was good. I knew I could not work for them, and I wasn’t going to. I told dad I didn’t want to go to college, but I wanted to go to Heating, Ventilation & A/C class at the local community college. We were within walking distance of the school, so the commute was easy. I asked him if I had to work within the family Heating, Ventilation and A/C company. He knew how I felt about my relatives. He had heard me butt heads many times because of how awful they were on my cousins and even those who worked for them. I felt I had to protect my cousins, because they were constantly telling them how horrible they were to work with. He told me I could work for any Heating, Ventilation and A/C company I wanted to work with, but I could not steal any of their clients away. He gave me a hug and told me he would pay for my college education.
