Occasionally it amazes me the extent that people will go to for awful habits.
For instance, when alcoholics will walk 5 miles to get to the liquor store.
Similarly, when people will spend their last dime on an addictive substance. Or, when people cannot stop gambling to the extent that they wind up homeless. I am typically completely mind boggled at the way that our brains can be hijacked by numerous stimuli. This is why I was especially shocked when my ex-bestie revealed to me that his parents were pack a afternoon smokers; You cannot tell that they smoked when you entered their house, where the indoor air was typically fresh, clean, and easy to breathe. Apparently, but, they officially smoked indoors. I could not understand how it was possible to pollute their indoor air everyday without suffering the consequences of unfortunate smells and unwanted airborne contaminants. And that is when my ex-bestie told me about their special indoor air quality control system that included specialized filtration units and UV light disinfection. Apparently, they were using high-powered airmedia purification devices that utilized costly HEPA air filters at numerous points in the central heating, cooling, and air quality control system. They could stink up the entire dwelling and the purification device would effectively remove The Unwanted airborne pollution. All of this air quality control and Heating and A/C innovation… To fill their lungs with cancer every afternoon without irritating other people via awful air quality. I suppose it would be cheaper to ditch the media air cleaner and invest in quitting smoking.
