Didn’t want to have to move in the midst of the winter but we had no choice

It’s been a long time coming just trying to move.

Honestly, if we knew it was going to be this challenging to sell our house and buy a new one, we might have never started.

We looked at a bunch of homes and we were so happy when we found the perfect place for us. The new home has a nice fireplace and the HVAC system is relatively new. There is also a fairly new roof and there is plenty of land. Well, when we finally reached our closing date to sell our house, the date was pushed back. This was frustrating because we had to reschedule everything with utility changes, and I had to update all of the paperwork. When we got to the pushed back closing date, again we were delayed. Again we had to go through all of the frustrations of changing everything up. Then on the actual day of closing, we were packed up and ready to go. Unfortunately, I was told by my lawyer that the buyer no longer qualified for the loan. This was such an unexpected blow to the face and I had to tell my beautiful bride this. She started crying upon hearing this news and we tried to work things out with our real estate agent. Fortunately the next day we learned the buyer was able to resolve the situation, but it would be another month wait to get to closing. We decided to stick with the buyer, and fortunately the sellers of the new property still were working with us. As we headed into the winter, I remember just sitting there with the heating system on while looking at the snow. I really did not want to have to move in the midst of the winter, but we had no choice.
