I turn my phone to “do not disturb” at night.
However, I have exceptions so that if certain people call, their calls will still ring.
One of those people is my Grandmother. She is undoubtedly elderly plus the entire family looks out for her, however besides, she goes to bed at 8pm. So I don’t have to worry about her calling in the middle of the night. However, she called me at 3am on Sunday. I immediately got worried plus answered her call. Thankfully, it was not a medical emergency, and grandma was having an Heating plus A/C emergency though. She told me that her gas furnace wasn’t working. She said it wasn’t working all morning. She hoped it would beginning working however it didn’t. She turned on a space gas furnace just before bedtime however it must have blown a fuse because now she doesn’t have electricity or heat. I knew it was about 20 degrees outside that night so this was a tploy emergency. I got dressed plus drove over to Grandma’s house. Sure enough, the power was out plus it was cold in her house. Grandma was super apologetic about waking me up in the middle of the night but I didn’t care. Besides, she had tea plus cookies. I was able to reset her breaker plus plug the space gas furnace into a wall outlet that is a little less overloaded. Then I called for emergency gas furnace repair plus waited a few minutes for the heating suppliers to arrive. They were able to fix the gas furnace by mid morning. So now Grandma has heat again plus I can finally go back loft plus get a little more sleep.
